"The first half is a recap of the early/mid-1960s LSD scene, when both Leary & Kesey rose to prominence. There's lots of Prankster 60s archive footage, some of which I didn't immediately recognize, and which may be unique to this feature. There's also some interesting old Leary footage, the bulk of it from a circa 1974 interview also seen in "Timothy Leary's Dead". There are some minor errors to the chronology and presentation, the most amusing (possibly a Prank?) assigning Wavy Gravy's name to a photo of Tiny Tim!
Like "Timothy Leary's Dead" this movie has some specific, minor flaws, but combining these two fan-oriented DVD features you get a terrific view of Leary, the modern (post-1960) history of LSD, and a substantial dose of the equally important Merry Pranksters."

Richard Alpert je bio profesor na Harvardu početkom 60-ih i družio se sa Lirijem koji je takođe tamo predavao, tako da su u to doba zajedno putovali u Meksiko gde su eksperimentisali sa magičnim pečurkama, da bi na kraju, 1963. zajedno bili izbačeni sa univerziteta zbog navodnog davanja halucinogena studentima. Posle aktivnog učešća u psihodeličnoj revoluciji tokom 60-ih godina, Alpert 1967. odlazi u Indiju i posle višemesečnog lutanja konačno nailazi na duhovnog učitelja Maharaj-jia koji ga prihvata za učenika i daje mu duhovno ime Ram Dass. Duhovno ispunjen, Ram Dass se 1969. vraća u SAD, te nastavlja svoju misiju. U ovom kratkom dokumentarcu on svedoči najviše o svom drugovanju i ludovanju sa Lirijem, zatim o izmenjenim stanjim svesti i naravno o duhovnosti. (32 min)3.jpg)

Quite important - it is hard to imagine tens of thousands of Germans shouting Heil Schicklgruber! instead of Heil Hitler! Adolf Hitler later confided to his only childhood friend, August Kubizek, "that the name Schicklgruber seemed to him so uncouth, so boorish, apart from being so clumsy and unpractical. But 'Hitler' sounded rich and was easy to remember."
From the first day that Hitler seized power, January 30, 1933, he knew that only sudden death awaited him if he failed to restore pride and empire to post Versailles Germany. His adjutant Julius Schaub recorded Hitler's jubilant boast to his staff on that evening, as the last celebrating guests left the Berlin Chancellery building: No power on earth will get me out of this building alive!
12 years and three months later History saw Hitler's prophecy fulfilled, as a handful of remaining Nazis trooped uneasily into his underground study on April 30, 1945, surveyed his still-warm remains slouched on a couch, with blood trickling from the sagging lower jaw, and a gunshot wound in the right temple and sniffed the bitter-almonds smell hanging in the air. Wrapped in an army blanket, he was carried up to the shell-blasted Chancellery garden. Gasoline was slopped over him in a reeking crater and ignited while his staff hurriedly saluted and backed down into the shelter.
Adolf Hitler announced at many occasions the "annihilation of the Jews" living in the territory under his control. In his mind, murdering millions of Jews could only be accomplished under the confusion of war - from the beginning he was planning a war that would engulf Europe. World War 2 caused the greatest loss of life and material destruction of any war in history, killing twenty-five million military personnel and thirty million civilians.
Approximately 11 million people were killed because of Hitler's genocidal policy and his Nazi Regime led to the annihilation of more than six million Jews during the Holocaust. The Third Reich would survive him for one week - the nightmare he had unleashed was over.

Što se pak mene tiče, zbog velikog interesovanja Kanađana i Amerikanaca koji nisu uspeli da pogledaju filmove na festivalu, a i praktično ih je nemoguće pronaći na internetu iz njihove pozicije, i to još sa sve engleskim prevodima, ja sam se odlučio da im to kolko tolko omogućim, tj. da i ja dadnem svoj mali doprinos ovoj krvavoj a opet svetoj bici za promociju srpskog horora van granica Srbije, pa se iskreno nadam da će bar 100-tinak ljudi skinuti za početak VARIOLU VERU Gorana Markovića iz '82 godine. "VARIOLA VERA's title refers to the Latin name for smallpox, and it is loosely based on a real event. In 1972, in what was then Yugoslavia, an Albanian Muslim from Kosovo was infected with smallpox on his pilgrimage in the Middle East and upon his return to Serbia, caused an epidemic in the Belgrade City Hospital. In the claustrophobic environment of a quarantined hospital, a group of characters, led by Rade Serbedzija (EYES WIDE SHUT), try to survive the best way they can, and to retain their humanity in the process if at all possible. No one is safe in this bleak but also blackly humorous account of body horror infecting the body politic."
Jako poučno, zanimljivo i totalno drugačije od svega što smo imalu prilike da vidimo do sad, i ako je nešto ikada bilo okultno na ovom blogu onda je to upravo ovaj dokumentarac a zapravo snimak DisinfoCon eventa, koji se sastoji većim delom od predavanja i performansa prijatelja i članova kontraverzne DISINFO organizacije. Naime, Disinfo (The Disinformation Company) je osnovana 1996. godine i bavi se prvenstveno izadavaštvom counter-culture literature, a pojavom interneta počeli su da rade i sajtove pa i dokumentarce, i to baš ozbiljno, npr. oni su izdali Stupidity (2006), Endgame: Blueprint for Global Enslavement (2007), Iraq for Sale: The War Profiteers (2006), 9/11: Press for Truth (2006), pa čak i In Search of the Great Beast 666: Aleister Crowley (2009).
Ovaj ekstremistički hepening je održan 2000-te godine i trajao je verovali ili ne čitavih 12 sati, a na njemu su govorili Kenneth Anger, zatim moj omiljeni apokaliptični slikar i filozof Joe Coleman, onda Marilyn Manson, pa Richard Metzger, pisac i okultista, Douglas Rushkoff, umetnik raznih domena i teoretičar medija, Mark Pesce, jedan od pionira na polju virtuelne stvarnosti, Grant Morrison, crtač stripova i scenarista, i sada već pokojni Robert Anton Wilson, kultni pisac, filozof i borac za ljudska prava, i Todd Brendan Fahey, pro-LSD aktivista, te mnogi drugi likovi iz te priče.
E sad, logično da u ovaj dokumentarac nije ušlo svih 12 sati ludnice, ali su uspeli da izvuku najgenijalnije momente i da ih spakuju u 4 čuke ultra kvalitetnog materijala koji zasigurno valja pogledati, jer ko što rekoh, nešto ovakvo se ne sreće svaki dan, a i radi se o ultra RARE materijalu, dakle jedva sam ga iščupao sa jednog huba, ni ne znajući zapravo o čemu se radi. Malo je reći da sam bio oduševljen kada sam video Colemana i Angera na pozornici, znači skroz prajles materijal, a posebno će biti zanimljiv ljubiteljima okultnog. (210 min)
