"This ultra-deluxe leather-bound box set comes in a cross-like holder for the five Vinyl discs and also includes a DVD with two outstanding live-performances from 1982 and 1984 plus a large poster,10 postcards, a metal enamel-badge as well as an extensive 36-page booklet illustrated with archive photos of Laibach’s hometown Trbovlje.

The Box focusses on Laibach’s early years as a provocative performance-music-and-multimedia-group and includes early studio and unreleased recordings in combination with many legendary live-documents from the 1981-1986 period, all previously unreleased on vinyl.

Lp1 contains unpublished and rare, early 80’s studio-recordings in Ljubljana (Slovenia) plus 1982 live-recordings from former Yugoslavia from Belgrade (Serbia) and Zagreb (Croatia)

Lp2 contains two performances from Ljubljana in 1982 and 1984: Side A from the Novi-Rock-Festival 1982 and Side B from December 1984 at Malči Belič Hall

Lp3 contains two Berlin (West Germany) performances from 1983 and 1985: the live Berlin Metropol 1983 tape known as “Vstajenje v Berlinu” and the Berlin Atonal festival performance from 17. February 1985

Lp4 contains two performances from Amsterdam (Netherlands) in 1985, which were previously released on the Staalplaat Tape “Ein Schauspieler.”

Lp5 contains the concert in the village of “Hum” near Nova Gorica (Slovenia) in 1986 which was the first (semi)-legal concert in Slovenia after their ban in 1983. At this concert Laibach was finally able to perform again with its full name on the poster, although the ban on this remained in force until 1987. The concert was organised by the local cell of the Union of Socialist Youth of Slovenia and recorded by Ernest Žnidaršič. The concert began with Laibach cutting a large amplified log of wood and culiminated in the use of a chainsaw. This was the only show where the group used a chainsaw.

The DVD includes two more former Yugoslav live-performances from 1982 and 1984..The first is the second Zagreb-performance at YURM-Festival in December 1982 also known as Touch of Evil featuring founding member Tomaž Hostnik who committed suicide shortly after the concert as well as the legendary clandestine concert in a venue in Dom Malči Beličeve (the house of the socialist heroine Malči Belič in Ljubljana) where Laibach performed “incognito” on 21st December 1984. Zagreb performance was filmed by Šime Strikoman and used by his kind permission. Ljubljana performance was filmed by Marjan Osole – Max and used by his kind permission.

The booklet texts compiled and edited by Alexei Monroe offer an opportunity to explore and understand in detail the origins, mission, methodologies and ideologies that shaped the Gesamtkunstwerk Laibach. The texts are by Alexei Monroe, Aleš Leko Gulič, Donald Campbell, Michael Goddard and legendary Slovene music promoter Igor Vidmar."

Zanimljiv album, ali me isuviše podseća na Rammstein, što me naravno jako iritira, jer ih prezirem. Inače ako zanemarimo muziku, tekstovi su odlični, posebno ono skroz realno prozivanje Isusa od strane Jude u pesmi "Abuse and Confession", pa onda odličan tekst o apokalipsi u kojoj će nestati sav ljudski rod a sve stvoreno čovečijom rukom biti uništeno zemljotesima i erupcijama vulkana, i kako će posle sudnjeg dana u tom carstvu božijem na Zemlji živeti samo životinje, skroz slobodno, u skladu sa prirodom. Savršeno. I naravno za kraj, pored genijalnog instrumentala "Deus Ex Machina", za ove strance što ne znaju jezike Slovena, Laibach su preveli i malko obradili jednu od najjačih svojih pesama, a meni definitivno omiljenu "Brat moj", sa prvog albuma, samo što su je ovde nazvali "To the new light". Dakle, ipak ima kvalitetnog materijala, jebeš Rammstein.

Album posle koga ništa više nije bilo isto. Najjači semplovi, prejake obrade, pa može da se kaže rame uz rame sa Opus Dei, ako ne i jače, npr. tu su detalji legendarne, neprevaziđene kompozicije Gustava Holsta - Mars, The Bringer Of War u pesmi NATO, dok numere WAR i FINAL COUNTDOWN otvaraju nove horizonte 'military industrial' podžanra i muzike uopšte. Album zaključuje genijalno zloslutna verzija svima vrlo dobro poznatog marša, MARS ON RIVER DRINA, o kome sam već dosta toga napisao. Po meni najznačajniji album Laibacha iz 90-ih godina.

Sećam se kada se pojavio ovaj album, prvo nisam verovao šta slušam, a onda sam shvatio, pa da, upravo to je Laibach. A posebno me pomela pesmica Hymn to the Black Sun, rekoh sebi, kakav je ovo rep, jebote ?! Znači, apsolutno fantastičan album, album kojim su napravili totalni zaokret a opet ostali dosledni svom fazonu da svaki album rade po naizgled zasebnom konceptu, jer prvo je to bio totalni underground zaključno sa kompilacijom Slovenska Akropola, pa onda gistro mainstream sa Opus Dei i Let it Be, povratak korenima na Macbeth, i odma' posle toga masterpis za sebe, Sympathy for the Devil, sa đavolskim vokalom, baš onako, full satanistički, uostalom Peter Mlakar je bio baš duboko u toj priči, i posle toga nekakav electro-industrial sa Kapitalom, i ja mislim da niti jednom bendu takvo nešto nije pošlo za rukom, da svaki album bude totalno različit a opet prepoznatljiv. Još pritom usemplovana pesmica iz Rozmarine Bebe u numeri Kinderreich. Znači, creepy. 11/10, nema dalje.

Jedan od definitivno genijalnijih albuma. Kada sam ko klinac od 15-16 godina slušao ovo gajbi na gramofonu, keva bi mi često uletala u sobu i grdila me kako nije ni čudo što sam uvek tako loše raspoložen kada non-stop slušam posmrtne marševe. Uostalom, poslušajte početne taktove na jutjubu i sve će vam biti jasno. I vaistinu, ovaj album je potpuno mračnjački raspoložen, pa čak i neke pesme zaista zvuče ko posmrtni marševi, ali su ujedno i genijalne, i album je tako koncipiran da pod obavezno mora da se posmatra i sluša kao celina, i to isključivo u osami, radi potpunog ugođaja. Inače, ovaj album je pisan prvenstveno kao muzika za čuveni Šekspirov komad, ali ga je pozorišni reditelj Wilfried Minks malo prepravio u saradnji sa Laibachom, te je tako nastao komad "Macbeth - Music for Life and Theatre", koji je izvođen u Deutsches Schauspielhaus, u Hamburgu, tokom '87 i '88 godine, a tek kasnije, '89 snimljen je regularno i u studiju, da bi početkom 1990. bio i zvanično objavljen.

Iako mainstream, genijalan album, dakle svaka pesma je ovde hit, i to na svetskoj razini. Posedujem naravno i ovo na vinilu, al' mi drhte ruke tako da nisam uspeo baš najbolje da uslikam unutrašnji omot, ali ako mi svrati šveca danas ona će to uraditi pa ću postaviti ponovo, pošto vidim da ih nema nigde na netu pa čak ni na discogsu, što me iskreno baš čudi. Dakle, album kojim se Laibach probio sa evropske na svetsku scenu, a sve ostalo je istorija.
